The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has enacted significant amendments to its labour law through Federal Decree-Law No. 9 of 2024, effective from 31 August 2024. These changes aim to enhance worker protections, ensure fairer employment practices, and align the UAE’s labour regulations with international standards. Key Amendments to the UAE Labour Law Extended Statute of Limitations for Labour Claims — The period for filing labour disputes has been extended from one year to two years from the date of employment termination.
